Garbage & Recycling
Services
The Village of Richfield does not have a municipal garbage program and requires residents to contract with private waste haulers for garbage and recycling. The four licensed companies in the Village of Richfield are Waste ManagementAdvanced Disposal, Groot and Choice Disposal. For additional information regarding our Recycling Center, including hours of operation and questions about accepted material, please contact Village Hall.

E-Cycling:

Wisconsin's electronics recycling law was signed in October 2009 as Act 50. The law establishes a statewide program, now called the E-Cycle Wisconsin program, to collect and recycle certain electronic devices. It is based on a product stewarship approach, which assigns primary responsibility for collection and recycling to the manufacturer. The law also bans certain electronics from Wisconsin landfills and incinerators after September 1, 2010.

Items that can no longer be disposed of in landfills:

Televisions
Computers (desktop, laptop, netbook and tablet computers)
Desktop printers (including those that scan, fax and/or copy)
Computer monitors
Other computer accessories (including keyboards, mice, speakers, external hard drives and flash drives)
DVD players, VCR's and other video players (i.e., DVR's)
Fax machines
Cell phones, digital cameras, iPods, etc.

The Village of Richfield does accept certain electronic waste although a fee will be charged to dispose of these items. These items are listed on our Recycling Schedule at:
http://www.richfieldwi.gov/DocumentCenter/View/1593

Items not accepted by the Village of Richfield can be recycled at several E-Cycle collection sites throughout the state. These sites are listed on a database for each County at:
http://dnr.wi.gov/wastemgmt/wm/wmexternal/ShellReportViewer.aspx?RID=15

For further information on E-cycling, refer to the DNR E-cycling website at:
