Ms. Bodilly has been an elementary and middle school teacher for more than twenty years and currently teaches second and third grade student. She has a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
One room schools were commonplace throughout rural America, including Richfield. All the students met in a single room where a single teacher taught academic basics to several grade levels of elementary age boys and girls. The number of children in each grade varied based on the population. Abraham Lincoln, Herbert Hoover, Joyce Carol Oates and Laura Ingalls Wilder were all products of the one room school. Ms. Bodilly will help us reminisce about one room school days through the stories she has to tell. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments follow this entertaining program.
